In Smolensk, a joint meeting of the collegia of the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus was held. On the basis of the Smolensk State Academy of Physical Education, Sports and Tourism was summed up the cooperation in the field of physical culture and sports within the framework of the Union State and was determined the priorities for further cooperation.
The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Pavel Kolobkov and the Minister of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Shamko. Science and education in the field of physical education and sports at the collegia was presented by Rector of RSUPESY&T, Professor Tamara Mikhailova. Representatives of the different departments of two countries, heads of regional bodies of executive power in the field of physical culture and sports of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus and representatives of science and education also took part in the meeting.
- I want to note the importance of such meetings. We have outlined plans for our future work. Of course, our common historical and sports past, our experience are necessary to move forward, - quotes the words of Pavel Kolobkov the press center of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation.
Following the results of the joint meeting, a decision was signed on the main directions for further cooperation. It includes the implementation of joint research projects to improve the system of training sports reserves and athletes of national teams; the formation of a consolidated calendar plan for the most significant physical and sports events; implementation of the student exchange program; realization of joint educational and scientific projects by students, graduate students and young scientists of Russian and Belarusian sports universities.
Also, the members of the collegia decided to develop a program of cooperation in the field of physical culture and sports within the framework of the Union State between the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus until 2020.
